You were supposed
To be good role models; then,
I realize that you’re not.

You are the one who should

Know how to navigate
This storm called life,
THIS problem I’m having.

Where is that rock I swim to?

I know no such place…
There, on a lost voyage
Home
I stare blankly at the canvas
Without an answer for the
Question

 Because the honest

Truth is that I never

Was taught any truth

These are the life
Lessons
Learned through mistakes
And wounded knee

Arms reaching vast dark empty

Feeling out what is good and bad
Through CC debt and career
Paths that lead down unemployment
Corridors more than to any office

 Here in the injustice of my past

I reach no further with wanton eyes
And fingers of blame
Here in the now, I start
Create a new – life
Style and foundation.

 

It’s never too late to begin!
