I Occur With You

I Occur With You

By: Husam (Sam) Salman

There, on the evening banks
Of tried and rice thrown confetti
We rested between
Drinks and despair
Between parties and tidings.

There, in the future tomorrow
We began to understand to let go
That it was about how things
Have been and were once done.

But to re-examine the whole
To reflect on the "truths"
On bad habits and
New traditions.

My Yuletide, my heart treat – you
My, how celebrations took on
New – everythings.

How we endlessly roamed
Without purpose
Or destination for too long
Blaming "this year" for
Our lives woes and all
That is wrong with life.

I receed without notice
To exceed me today.

Cheney Dick

Cheney Dick

By: Husam (Sam) Salman

This life lesson learned

Classroom of life ran long

They all saw you as a monster

A coup was forming to fire you...

Before you shot that guy's face.

Beyond the borders you traveled

Your teachings laced in death

You taught the wolves they have teeth

And plotted to destroy the world.

Your ways will echo the bowels of history

Of corruption, cowards and conspiracies

Of giving up rights and freedoms as Americans

For the betterment of America, they should.

Your morals lack philosophy

Are short of fair and far from just

Forever torture of the world

Your students will practice.

You're living a good life

With no governor and limitation

Fray away from kindness of humanity

For the lining of your eternal pockets and coiffeurs.

You are the dark time that came into

Our homes everynight

Screaming the need for your newly

Hatched fear driven war

Your family will suffer their name

But you will be dead - comfortable without woe.

There were thousands of cries

For "this to end" and us "to STOP"

Answer to these pleas

Surfaced - torture was conducted

To see if we could prevent

More violence form happening.

On one hand the mind wants

Because it is a thinking device

On the other, the heart forces

Our head into our hands

You cannot prevent war

With WAR! That lesson is

Bleak with little results

Except enemies

Practice what you teach.

So that your war into the infinity

Lives.

Role Models

Role Models

By: Husam (Sam) Salman

You were supposed
To be good role models; then,
I realize that you’re not.

You are the one who should
Know how to navigate
This storm called life,
THIS problem I’m having.

Where is that rock I swim to?
I know no such place…
There, on a lost voyage
Home
I stare blankly at the canvas
Without an answer for the
Question

 Because the honest
Truth is that I never
Was taught any truth
These are the life
Lessons
Learned through mistakes
And wounded knee

Arms reaching vast dark empty
Feeling out what is good and bad
Through CC debt and career
Paths that lead down unemployment
Corridors more than to any office

Here in the injustice of my past
I reach no further with wanton eyes
And fingers of blame
Here in the now, I start
Create a new – life
Style and foundation.

It’s never too late to begin!

Push Past the Fog

Push Past the Fog

By: Husam (Sam) Salman

Who peered at you with sideways smile

That thing that you wore that day…that…that was hot

You would have slapped me if you read my mind

Like that night by the barn, that kiss was everything!

Like the fog could not lift, you stood there haunting me

The tap-tap-tap on the glass told me the skies were finally

Dousing LA, like us, when we were naked - Fucking

That moment will live eternal, etched in the heavens

Glistened by the light as drops fell on steaming shoulders stood

Between here and the streetlight.

A spark in the sky cast shadows giants deep

Eager was the kiss – F-F-F-F-f-f-f-u-uck YEAH….!!!

Like a prophet, things came from a place of meaning

Creating a deeper inner enlightenment with every word

With every kiss blessed upon these lips.

It was like the clouds were parting

And I was slowly drying

Arid land, parched and nearing

But only at arm’s length at times

I could taste a resolution around some blind turn.

That connection was a slow smile

Bought on by awkward conversation

Over some noodle dish neither one was enjoying

Suddenly looking for that silver lining, darkness inevitable.

I swore there was lightning yesterday, peering at me

With a sideways smile, that thing that you wore that day

…that…that was hot, you would have slapped me if

You read my mind…like that night by the barn,

THAT kiss was everything.

…Ebola

…Ebola

By: Husam (Sam) Salman

Death by luxury

Social disastrous

Cunt lips social norm

These rotten journeys

Into suburb hell, seeds

Festering, festooning

Corps rots of last night’s ‘chill’

 Stink of gin and regret

Desperations and an endless

Need to kill yourself trying to

Prove you’re a somebody

Or worth it to the world.

One trick pony, endlessly

Searching for hope

                or a handout

Bathrooms that are clean

But beds that are eternally

Messy.

Ecstasy on the floor

My Visene next to overnight bag

And contact case open, collecting dust

Oprah on the radio scratch notes

My hair like wires

Ratty and caged like a heart in

Rushed hands –

There was something more

But today is a kilo of coke

And weed on table tops

And a 16 year old chick

Calling the shots

Riot patrol running amuck

Like some disaster film gone

Sour

And action sequences will

Be the only seg-way to the next

Make-out scene

THIS is normal

To the obscenely rich

The likes you may never

See.

…Objects May Appear Closer in Mirror

…Objects May Appear Closer in Mirror

By: Husam (Sam) Salman

Existence

Created in the likeness of “GOD”

Always evolving, growing organisms

Cell to Fish to Monkey to Man

God is everything

From the leaf, to echoes - the sea

Charity unforgiving

Mutations through epoch journeyed;

Like celestial dance

Imitating life

Yourself, looks

- reflect -

Look yourself

Life imitating

Dance - celestial like

Journey epoch through mutations

Sea the echoes to leaf the form

Everything is god

Man to Monkey to Fish to Cell

Organisms growing, evolving always

“GOD” of likeness, the, in created

Existence

…In a Blue Dress

…In a Blue Dress

By: Husam (Sam) Salman

Just washed his ass and cleaned his dick, he’s ready to
...Fuck

Stepped out the door, joint in the pocket ready for whatever
…the

Night has in store for him, even if it’s glass – to smoke – nice and
…Blue

All lit up for the night’s tithing, let daddy watch you un
…Dress,

Under the spell of the drug, he paws you – there naked-  he grabs you by
…The

Hair and fills your mouth up with dreams – that were thought up by the
…Devil

The nightmare that you call sex, where whimpers are exactly what he
…is

Wanting to hear you make, [in his bag he has a rope]. He
…Already

Thought about what he want to do to you and
…in

You – while you’re high, asking for love from anyone who will give it to
…You!

Fry-Daze

Fry-Daze

By: Husam (Sam) Salman

It was like a cyclops from yesterday's storm in my mind that suddenly winked at me.
I remembered it as if it were yesterday Rollinghill sides of grass leaving out in sheeplike form landing back into itself amber waves of…
He wanted to read my mind but I feared he would understand or learn that I am gay.
I barely knew. How could I stand for the world to know yet?
There we were entering new realms of Pink Floyd's The Wall and Eraser Head in states of mind that no one should ever watch Eraser Head.
A cacophony of riches be willed or meant of sadness in the space that will always be reserved for those memories of those Fridays where we sat tripping balls.

Midnight Snack

Midnight Snack

By: Husam (Sam) Salman

They say if you fall asleep on the sofa in front of the TV you're going to take a long drive. In this case, you venture out to a vast Mojave nothing where the small café has Gretchen working double shift into the a.m. hours four o'clock - no one's there but us.  It's like an adventure, see where it takes you, no borders, boundaries or reservations to preserve any possibility.

Downtown Dog People

Downtown Dog People

By: Husam (Sam) Salman

Flea riddled mongrels let their bitches shit on the street right in front of the restaurant where I am about to eat. You will never look at a deconstructed burrito  the same way again.

Calendar Reminder

By: Husam (Sam) Salman

All Calendar Reminders ever do our advise us of the things we are about to be late to because the reminder is the last minute notification before it happens. And all other indicators,… Well… There were no other indicators so how should we know? Shit, I'm late.

Talking Walls

Talking Walls

By: Husam (Sam) Salman

It might save me some money in the short run, but in the long run, these things need fixing properly. There's a reason things get broken. Each tell their tales as they have a tale to be told. What that tale is, I'll never tell… But if these walls could talk.

Epic Sky

Epic Sky

By: Husam (Sam) Salman

There again in the vast emptiness of the imagination do I pull the rabbit out of the hat and create nothing out of something and something out of nothing where psychedelic furs are not just a band about something that I'm rubbing up against in the form of a green and black striped zebra unicorn. Take a deep breath of the mountainous air motorcycle sidecar goggles on, riding off.

It's All Cloudy

It's All Cloudy

By: Husam (Sam) Salman

Sometimes I think of the strangest things when I'm doing the most mundane task. Typing or washing dishes or posting random stuff on social media. This prophecy, is to see through that everything, or is everything seeing through me?

A Western Song

A Western Song

By: Husam (Sam) Salman

These are the thoughts that I feel:
We look to the stars that are blind to our existence.
The silent ballet of cratered moons and Martian lands
Beyond hands reach, remains pristine.

Here, the vast void that is my imagination – boundaryless
What a small world we wet to our feet in to test the waters before we drink.
Here at the dance of youth to age to youth again
My heart rides on like a herd of wild horses.

Did I Kill You

Did I Kill You

By: Husam (Sam) Salman

Did I kill you with my sweet sorrows and my "I love you"s?
Did I kill you with my devastation and my rugged good looks?

How cerebral was it when we said "I love you"?
How connected are we inside of one another physically!!

How the tide changed and the beat marched on,
Two different drummers banging away.

When the tide changed and the drummer drummed no more.
When all was said and done.

After I left, after the silent treatment…
After you called me back and we were friends again.

Did I drive you into the arms of any?
Did I wound you enough to propel you into feeling connected once again?

                           (no matter what)

If I held you longer, would you not have met him?
Would he not have given you your first bump?

If I never left, would you be hooked right now?

Did I kill you because I let you go?

Private High-Hedged Homes

Private High-Hedged Homes
By: Husam (Sam) Salman

Sparsely attended periwig towers mirroring lives in private high hedged homes
Untouched by the fettered morning of common mundane men – in light before work
Unaffected by noon’s gaze of blankly staring at clocks to take breaks – boss permitting
Sleep your mid-day resurrection while we, the meek and meager toil unwaveringly
Ruse of Satin, house of glass, no one is tending to your order.

Where have the years gone, in this ache my troubles bring
In my moon shadow lit home upon the rocks, and you…so well lit in The Hills
Worlds may collide, but reluctance to see eye to eye, prevents humanity
And Firmaments of mind create reason to stay, coaxed by dollars worth
Tiara strident siren tortures with vanity and pride, my scepter drops
Senators surrender morals and value for $upport and vote$
Silent, they sway tides of nation and trend, from peace to pleasure
Where enough NEVER ends.

Safe in their Alabaster Chambers -
Untouched by Morning -
and untouched by noon -
Sleep the meek members of the Resurrection,
Rafter of Satin and Roof of Stone -

Grand go the Years,
In the Crescent above them -
Worlds scoop their Arcs -
and Firmaments - row -
Diadems - drop -
And Doges surrender -
Soundless as Dots,
On a Disk of Snow.
Safe in their Alabaster Chambers -
Untouched by Morning -
and untouched by noon -
Sleep the meek members of the Resurrection,
Rafter of Satin and Roof of Stone -

Grand go the Years,
In the Crescent above them -
Worlds scoop their Arcs -
and Firmaments - row -
Diadems - drop -
And Doges surrender -
Soundless as Dots,
On a Disk of Snow.
Safe in their Alabaster Chambers -
Untouched by Morning -
and untouched by noon -
Sleep the meek members of the Resurrection,
Rafter of Satin and Roof of Stone -

Grand go the Years,
In the Crescent above them -
Worlds scoop their Arcs -
and Firmaments - row -
Diadems - drop -
And Doges surrender -
Soundless as Dots,
On a Disk of Snow.
