Not until the office airs out it's dirty clothes!

With an utter resentment to the modern day work place, I reach out to all with this message.

To all you college bound shut-ins who lock yourselves away from the crowds, follow no trends and march to your own beat...I applaud you for your pluck. I would however like to state, that though your parents dressed in "older" fashions that you may have found cool or hipster cool (ironic), I implore you to please take a look either on-line or in a catalogue, and find other looks that are out there.

I'm talking to you, mister "I'm wearing brown polyester pants, that are an inch too short, with that faded navy shirt, that in florescent light looks gray." and to you miss "beige knit jersey dress with the flats who's souls are thin as they are pointy".

This may have been fun when you were young, and not to say that you should look a specific way, but grow up. With the money you earn at work, set aside a good 3% to update your wardrobes.

I stroll through the office corridors with utter disgust. My eyes droop from the banal efforts made before stepping out of the house. Please people take a moment to buy a mirror and look in it once in a while. Is it any wounder why no one takes you seriously and you keep getting passed up for that promotion?

I'm just giving my opinion, take it as a grain of salt if you must, but please, take it!

Depeche Mode and Hollywood...Serendipity

Driving through Hollywood, I caught wind of a free Depeche Mode concert on Hollywood and Vine. After a quick bite at the rock and roll Denny's. David and I flew to the scene, where we were escorted like cattle into a caged off holding area with large screen tv's posted at every corner and Jimmy Kimmel counting down the seconds until we were live to tape...no more than two minutes later we had a taken a "Wrong" road with our "Personal Jesus".

The crowd was in a traditional somber black with sobering undertones of gray. Scattered throughout were the maze of characters, from the Euro rocker with the platform shoe to the neo-flower child with the irrelevant gladiator sandals, bleach splashed jeans and black combed wool bolero.

An air of rock swept the stage. The faithful viewers along with the waifing tokes that permeated from the group of 'bros' just behind...chide and red eyed, completed the sensation known as concert!!!

BTW...did you know Depeche Mode is roughly translated from French as "fast fashion?"

Coachella 2009...enough said!

Girls, girls, girls!!! All day I was watching the parade of the new jack city dirt hippy, mixed in with a little rock edge, stroll in a promenade fashion up and down the avenues of the Coachella festival grounds. What more can a creative mind ask for?

Each a gestalt of the zeitgeist of the times...with the subdued tones of the faded fashion hues to the bold expressions of drunk punch colors. I witnessed the transformation of the drop waist silhouette emerge into the Grecian goddess drape. And boys, please catch up...my senses were a buzz for the form in it's purest, but in relation to accessorizing, drape and silhouette...believe me when I say....(Yawn)...what was that, effort?

Like a dreamed or a panting, where the women with their fine curved bodies, played the audience of passersby. Hypnotizing the male of the species, like a sirens song, turning all heads like moths to a great pair!

The nights precession of My Bloody Valentine created an atmosphere, a mood that brought the audience to the crucible...some loved the sounds of the bands interpretation of the times and the feelings of their art...I was one!

The days dance ended with a cure for the aching heart...the Cure. With a passion that is notably the style of Smith, they delivered a sound that is undeniably kissable! I experienced this and came out of the crucible on the other side, and found that what was given, was good!

For all those that went, you understand, for the rest...take my word for it...it was tasty!

recycled closets

The state of the global economy can be viewed through the garment industry...slow but still moving.

People today are shopping more in their closets, taking a garment from two or three seasons ago, and another item from last season, and adding a modern piece like the 'boy-friend' jean. (jeans that have larger sized holes that fit a bit larger).

Though we want the new 'new look', some of our modern budgets tend to run a bit lean these days, leaving one with a bit more want in their eyes then desirable. Fear not, we, as the consumer nation, know, we can not do without the new new...anything.

So before you pirate a ship off the Horn of Africa, take a second look at those worn our wears in your closet, cut off the sleeves, dip it in bleach filled water, wash and rinse and you have a new piece!

My friends "ECO" and Bamboo...hand in hand!

Great day for the eco happy hound on the hunt for the new 'must haves'.

Samsung is launching a new more environmentally friendly phone. The case is made entirely out of recycled plastic, and has zero toxic materials and is charged through a solar panel on the back of the device. Though this phone doesn't come in the 'eco' green, we are all accustom to, I still find it to be an innovator in the cell phone arena.

So you had your sugar now for some medicine...

Bamboo fabric is a natural textile made from the pulp of the bamboo grass. Bamboo fabric has been growing in popularity because it has many unique properties and is more sustainable than most textile fibers. When woven, bamboo fabric is light and strong, has excellent wicking properties, and is to some extent antibacterial. The use of bamboo fiber for clothing was a 20th century development, pioneered by several Chinese corporations.

Let's see where the trends take us next. Garment production using bamboo fabrics is on the rise...so be on the look out for the new bamboo duds this Spring and Summer, and keep an eye out for any wandering panda bears. You're outfit might look too tempting to resist a taste. Oh, and if you're not calling me from your new 'eco' phone...then don't call me at all.

Wrist Bands..."You paid for that?" Are those still relevant

Are those still relevant?

Please tell me why we don't wear our hearts on our sleeves, but fell the need to wear our charity on our wrist. Does anyone go out and decide to support a friend’s organization because they are wearing a wristband?

On Wednesdays, I choose not to eat red meat, or chicken. I'll either eat fish, or have a meat free day. To me, that is a sort of fasting. Part of my reason is for health, but another part of me does it for spiritual reasons. Aside from mentioning it here, this once, I don't go around mentioning it to others. I'm doing it for me.

I support many charity events, help non-profit organizations and do other philanthropic work. I don't attach the bumper stickers, or take the backpacks, or other free gifts. I want all the money to go directly to the cause. Does that make me a better person, no, but does wearing tacky rubber wristbands really look good anyway? And what is the environmental impact of them, do they decompose, biodegrade...

I'm not saying stop your support...but please, for the love of my eyes, take them off.

Fashion Police

Fashion Police, you should all be arrested!!! Juliana, you get a get out of jail free card because you are too cute!!!

Did anyone notice the Fashion Police after the Oscars? Jay was in a white jacket on the runway...that's just "t"-acky. Everyone knows when you want to give fierce face and make a presence on the runway; it can't be in an outfit that doesn’t fit the season!

And someone please tell me what the Welsh tranny diva is doing wearing a blue pin stripe suite in the US with a white belt and brown boots...honey please take a look in a US based magazine and let me know where that look is located.
Juliana, I'll let the blue dress with the butterfly sleeves slide this once, but that's too much look for you!
